About Chef Kevin Monahan
Chef Kevin has always been enthusiastic about learning new and creative ways to push boundaries in his cooking. After graduating from culinary school, he went on to work under Jose Andres at Bazaar, then rated among the top 85 restaurants in the world. While there, he learned the innovative possibilities of molecular gastronomy, and continues to carry the innovative spirit of these lessons throughout his career. He joined Fleming’s at the age of 20, rising in the ranks to become Chef Partner. Chef Kevin describes the Chef’s Table as a dream for the chefs who, like him, have been part of the Fleming’s family for many years. It provides an invaluable opportunity to learn new skills, hone in on creativity, and always strive to try something new - and, in the Newport Fleming’s highly collaborative atmosphere, this opportunity is extended to all team members, from sous chefs to associates.
