About Chef Steve McCarty

Chef Steve says it’s all about the camaraderie of the kitchen. He started out as a dishwasher for country clubs, and he eventually worked his way through the kitchen. He found work in the kitchen so rewarding that he decided to pursue an education at Le Cordon Bleu, where he studied French cooking techniques. After finishing his education and gaining experience in the industry, Chef Steve worked his way up to a job with Fleming’s, which stood out from the typical small restaurants where he previously worked and because of the creativity it afforded him. Chef’s Table has had a huge impact on Chef Steve’s career — in his words, it has reinvigorated the entire culture. He relishes the opportunity to express himself through food and to collaborate with his teammates, coming up with fresh, new ways to enliven what the restaurant has to offer.
