About Chef Michael Baker
Chef Michael, known simply as Chef Baker, brings over 20 years of culinary experience and a deep-rooted passion that began in his childhood kitchen. Trained at Le Cordon Bleu, he believes in keeping food simple, honest, and ingredient-driven—letting quality speak for itself. One of his proudest accomplishments is developing a sourdough starter from scratch, a symbol of his hands-on approach and respect for time-honored techniques. His love for cooking is matched by a genuine joy in sharing great meals, from breadmaking to premium cuts like Japanese A5 Wagyu. At Fleming’s for over 15 years, Chef Michael leads by example and fosters a culture of respect, collaboration, and constant growth. He values every role in the kitchen, knowing a great Guest experience is built on teamwork and precision. Whether it's the clean, elegant flavors of Beef Carpaccio or the comforting richness of a classic steak, his focus is always on exceeding expectations with every dish. Beyond the restaurant, he enjoys gardening and traveling—two passions that fuel his creativity and deepen his connection to the craft.
