Chef Dave’s culinary journey started at the age of eight when his father taught him how to make spaghetti—an experience that sparked a lifelong love for cooking and the sense of joy that comes from creating food that makes others smile. A self-made chef, Dave worked his way up through the ranks, gaining hands-on knowledge from every station and every role across decades in the industry. His education came from what he calls the “school of hard knocks,” and that background continues to shape his humble, team-first leadership philosophy. As a native Arizonan, Dave naturally gravitates toward Southwest-inspired flavors, with a special affinity for seafood, soups, and sauces. His culinary philosophy is simple and heartfelt: "Have fun. Cook from the heart. It doesn’t need to be complicated to be delicious." Whether he’s crafting a bold Australian Wagyu entrée or reimagining a classic dish, Dave focuses on quality, execution, and delighting Guests with every plate. Since joining Fleming’s in 2001 at the Chandler location, Chef Dave has built a kitchen culture grounded in positivity, humor, and mutual respect. He strives to surround himself with passionate individuals, always making sure his team feels heard and appreciated.
