Chef Matt’s culinary journey began in his early 20s as a student at the Art Institute of San Diego. While there, he gained an appreciation for California cuisine, which inspired his career as a chef in the Golden State. Chef Matt first joined the family at Fleming’s with the exciting opportunity to help open the Los Angeles location. Working in the bustling city, his grit and tenacity earned him the title of sous chef. Now celebrating 11 years with Fleming’s, Chef Matt enjoys the creative liberty that Chef’s Table empowers. He aims to excite his Guests with new ideas, seasonal flavors and inspiration from San Diego culture.
