We’ve always admired Silver Oak. It’s a winery that devotes its entire resources to a single wine: Cabernet. For 35 years they’ve consistently produced outstanding Cabs, from vineyards in Sonoma’s Alexander Valley and Napa Valley. Their Cab from Napa Valley is a true superstar — well known and powerful, with a large following of enthusiastic fans.
The Napa Cab is a limited production wine that our Director of Wine, Marian Jansen op de Haar, has always wanted to include on the Fleming’s list. But there’s never been enough to offer throughout the year.
While talking with the Duncan family at Silver Oak, we realized that we have the same philosophy of excellence — to be the very best at what you do as well as a belief that wine should be shared with family and friends, and is best enjoyed when paired with the finest food.
So after some discussion (and some Cab, of course), together we decided to offer Silver Oak at Fleming’s during this holiday season through December only. It’s the perfect time to gather family and friends and celebrate with their award-winning Cabernet and our outstanding prime steaks.
An exclusive offer for Friends of Fleming's, compliments of Fleming's and Silver Oak – Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet, 2004, will be available for $125* a bottle, now through December 31st.
According to winemaker Daniel Baron, this “2004 Cabernet is complex and elegant and balances dark fruits, chocolate, rose petals, cedar and black olive flavors with a velvety texture, a fruity mid-palate and a long, smooth finish with well-integrated tannins. This is a wine you can drink now or cellar for 10-15 years.”
Marian suggests having this wine with a Prime Burger, or for dinner with a New York Strip — New York Strip with Silver Oak Napa Cab is one of her favorite food-wine pairings.
