When I was young, I spent a lot of time in the kitchen with my mom. She had five kids so she was in the kitchen a lot. Of the 5 siblings, I was the curious one, showing up first to the dinner table and the last to leave. I really don't remember her making anything fancy, but it was always so good and had that great homemade flavor.
Every Mother's Day, all of us kids would make mom breakfast in bed. I was always right in the middle of it. And even though it was not fancy and maybe didn’t taste all that great, she adored it. And clearly loved our thoughtfulness. Then later that day we would head over to our family restaurant where my dad and grandparents were getting everything ready for a special Mother's Day Dinner.
Now, I look forward to helping my kids make breakfast for my wife on Mother's Day. And then we head over to Fleming's to get ready for Mother's Day Brunch.
This Mother's Day, I wanted to make something extra special for all of the moms. We're offering something new – Berry Stuffed French Toast with turkey sage Sausage. It's double thick cinnamon brioche bread, stuffed with a blueberry cream cheese filling and topped with marinated strawberries and chantilly cream. Top it off with pure maple syrup. Wow! In fact, we had a contest among all the Fleming's chefs to come up with the best French Toast anyone had ever tasted. And this is it! Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!
